Early World Of Learning

Early World of Learning promotes school readiness

Parents and teachers know a good start in school is vitally important. Early success builds a young child’s confidence and creates a strong foundation for later learning. This 'good start' begins at home.Pre-school children who have had certain experiences and acquired certain skills usually succeed better than those who have not.

Early World of Learning was developed from a pre-school teacher survey identifying 93 readiness skills important in pre-school development. These skills have been broken down into 10 skill groups:
Visual
Listening
Language and Reading
Manipulative
Self-help and Social and Emotional Development
Early Mathematical Concepts
Time
Position and Direction
Texture
Color

The Early World of Learning program features a central character, Poldy the lovable scarecrow. Children will identify with Poldy in all the various activities of the program and share in his many adventures.

Features:
12 Storybooks. Introduce the skills, and concepts from the 10 key readiness areas.
6 Audiocassettes. The cassettes, which accompany the storybooks, introduce and develop the same skills, with special attention to listening and auditory discrimination.
Concertina Books. These books feature moving parts to teach movement and direction.
